Rubbish Day

MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP RESIDENTIAL GARBAGE CUSTOMERS DROP OFF SITE FOR

 HOUSEHOLD RUBBISH AND METALS (3 visits per address/year)

A drop-off site for household rubbish and metals is a service provided for Marquette Township Residential Garbage Customers.  A driver’s license and current Marquette Township garbage bill will be required and will be checked at the drop-off site.  Only one small truck load or one trailer per customer will be allowed.  Please be prepared to unload your own vehicle. Commercial Haulers are not allowed to dump.

Drop off area is located east of M-35, off of County Road 492, North Country Transfer Station, 83 Eagle Mills Road. Enter through Gate 3 where a township employee will check you in.  This service is offered on the first Wednesday of each month from April through October.

April through October                12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

November through March          GLASS DROP OFF 

The site is limited to glass, electronics, toys, tools, furniture, appliances (must be tagged Freon free), old clothing, shoes, books, drapes, carpets, decorations, remodeling waste less than one pickup truck load per day, and other minor household items. Electronic equipment includes: TV’s, computers, laptops, network equipment, computer parts, software, flat panel screens, monitors, printers and scanners, etc.  Metals are items such as washers, dryers, stoves, refrigerators (refrigerant removed and tagged) tin, furnaces, car parts, water tanks, etc. The following items will not be accepted:  Liquid or hazardous wastes, freon containing appliances, regular garbage, food items, rocks or masonry, compressed gas tanks, tires, shingles, batteries. If you have items not accepted, contact North Country Disposal 906-249-4500 for their transfer station hours and fees.

If you require curb side service for disposal of items, please contact North Country Disposal directly at 249-4500.  There will be an additional charge for that service.
